THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW 85- 4
being a by-law to appoint Mr. David J. Johnston
as Acting Clerk Pro Tempore of the Town of
Newcastle
WHEREAS the Clerk of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle will be
absent from his position and unable to carry out his duties because of
illness;
AND WHEREAS Section 77(3) of The Municipal Act, R.S.D. 1980, provides that
the Council of a Municipality may appoint an Acting Clerk, Pro Tempore
when the Clerk is unable to carryon his duties through illness;
AND WHEREAS it is necessary for the orderly processing of the Town of
Newcastle's business activities that an Acting Clerk Pro Tempore be
appointed for the duration of the Clerk's absence.
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT Mr. David J. Johnston is hereby appointed Acting Clerk
Pro Tempore and he shall have all the powers and duties of the
Clerk under The Municipal Act and every other Act muring the
period of his appointment.
By-law read a first and second time this 14th day of January 1985
By-law read a third time and finally passed this 14th day of January 1985.
