BY-LAW 85-138
being a by-law to appoint the Members of
the Newcastle Public Library Board
WHEREAS Section 9(1) of the Public Libraries Act, 1984, provides
that a public library board for a municipality whose population
is less than 100,000, shall be composed of at least five (5)
and no more than nine (9) members appointed by the Municipal
Counci I:
AND WHEREAS pursuant to the requirements of the Public Libraries
Act, 1984, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle
enacted By-law Number 85-85, establishing the composition of the
Newcastle Public Library Board;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
NEWCASTLE HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The membership of the Newcastle Public Library
Board shall be composed of the following persons:
Evelyn Stroud
Jennifer Walhout
William S. Lover
Aileen Ploss
Michael Dengis
Nancy K. Charland
Carolyn Sproatt
Pamela Fenton
Councillbr.Marie Hubbard
2. That each board member shall hold office for a term
concurrent with the term of the appointing Council, or
until a successor is appointed, and may be re-appointed
for one or more further terms.
