THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE BY-LAW 82 - 170 being a by-law of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle to re-establish the position and to define and determine the duties and responsibilities of the "Confidential Secretary, Treasury Department II . WHEREAS it is deemed desirable to establish the position of "Confidential Secretary, Treasury Department" and to define and determine the duties and responsibilities thereof; NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. That there is hereby established the position of IIConfidential Secretary, Treasury Departmentll. 2. The position shall have the duties and responsibilities described within Schedule "A" to this by-law, attached hereto. 3. The position shall be paid in accordance with Town policy in respect of the compensation of non-affiliated staff or at such rate as may be determined by Council by Resolution or By-Law. J /' Schedule "A" to By-Law 82 - 170 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CONFIDENTIAL SECRETARY, TREASURY DEPARTMENT Responsible to the Treasurer for confidential and general secretarial duties including personnel matters and office administration. Work Performed: 1. Administration of Departmental records on behalf of the Treasurer and senior Treasury staff, including Departmental Personnel and budget records. 2. Research and preparation of background information leading to reports by the Treasurer or Treasury staff. Report preparation includes the compilation of statistical and financial information. 3. Research and preparation, including assembly of annual operating and capital budgets. Includes assisting in preparation of financial statements, returns and subsidy information. 4. Liaison with the public, other Municipal Departments and other levels of Government is required. Includes answering general enquiries from the public, private organizations, and Boards and Commissions affiliated with the Town. 5. General secretarial duties for the Treasury Department and other Departments as may be assigned. 6. Other duties as may be assigned by the Treasurer.
