By-law 80-9
being a by-law to provide for the participation of the 'Ibwn
of Newcastle Fire Department in Regional Mutual Fire Aid
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 352 subsection (1) of The Municipal
Act, R.S.O. 1970, authorization is granted to Councils of all municipalities to
enter into an agreement with other municipalities for the use of fire fighting
equipnent or any part thereof;
NCM THEREFORE, BE IT ENACIED AND IT IS HEREBY ENACI'ED as a by-law of the
Corporation of the 'Ibwn of Newcastle by the Council thereof as follows:
1. That the 'Ibwn of Newcastle Fire Department be and it is hereby authorized
to leave the limits of the municipality or fire area of the 'Ibwn of Newcastle
at the discretion of the Chief and under the direction of the Region Fire
Co-ordinator, to respond to calls for assistance from other municipal fire
departments authorized to participate in the Durham Region Mutual Fire Aid System
@t or any other Regional Mutual Fire Aid System on a reciprocal basis.
2. In the G\,"eIlt the provisions of this by-law conflict with the provisions of
any other by-law of The Corporation of the 'Ibwn of Newcastle, this by-law shall
prevail.
