THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW 80-54
being a by-law to amend By-Law 77-33 (as amended)
being a by-law to designate an area in the
Bowmanville Central Business District as an
Improvement Area and to establish a Board of
Management for the Bowmanville Central
Business Improvement Area
WHEREAS the Municipal Act provides that the Council of a
local municipality may pass by-laws designating an area
as an Improvement Area;
AND WHEREAS the Council has passed By-Law #77-33 on the
6th day of June 1977 designating an area in the Bowmanville
Central Business District as an Improvement Area and to
establish a Board of Management for the Bowmanville Central
Business Improvement Area;
AND WHEREAS Council deems it advisable to extend the said area;
AND WHEREAS notice of intention of the Council to pass a
by-law extending the Improvement Area as hereinafter described
has been given as by the said act prescribed and no sufficiently
signed petition objecting to the passing of the by-law has
been received within the time limit therefor;
NOW THEREFOR BE IT ENACTED AND IT IS HEREBY ENACTED as a
by-law of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle by the
Council thereof as follows:
1. By-Law #77-33 passed on the 6th day of June 1977 is
hereby amended as follows:
a) Section 1 of the said by-law is hereby amended
by adding an additional area as follows:
Division Street from Queen Street to Church Street,
Temperance Street from Queen Street to Church Street,
Silver Street from King Street West to Church Street
and Church Street from Division Street to Scugog Road.

2. This By-Law shall not come into force without the
approval of the Ontario Municipal Board.
By-Law read a first time this 5th day of May 1980

UPON IT APPEARING that notice of intention to pass By-
law 80-54 had been duly given as required by statute and
no objection having been filed with the Clerk of the Town
of Newoastle;
THE BOARD ORDERS that this application is hereby granted
and By-law 80-54 passed by Council of the Corporation of
the Town of Newcastle on the 5th day of May, 1980, to extend
the Bowmanville Central Business Improvement Area designated
by By-law 77-33 by including the area described in Schedule
"A" attached hereto, is hereby approved.

The Bowmanville Central Business Improvement Area is
hereby enlarged to include the following:
Division Street from Queen Street to Church Street.
Temperance Street from Queen Street to Church Street,
Silver Street from King Street West to Church Street,
and Church Street from Division Street to Scugog Road,
within the former Town of Bowmanville, now in the
Town of Newcastle.
