A BY -LAW TO CONFIRM '!HE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COUNCIL OF '!HE '!OWN
OF NEWCAS'ILE AT '!HE MEETINGS HELD ON THE
18th day of December 1979

WHEREAS by Section 9 of The Municipal Act, being Chapter 284 of the
Revised Statutes of Ontario 1970, the powers of a municipal
corporation are to be exercised by its COlIDCil;
AND WHEREAS by Subsection 1 of Section 241 of The Municipal Act,
being Chapter 284 of the Revised Statutes of Ontario, 1979, the powers
of every Council are to be exercised by by-law;
NJW 'lHEREFORE '!HE COUNCIL OF '!HE 'IOVN OF NEWCAS'ILE ENACTS AS FDUDWS:
1. The actions of the Council of the Town of Newcastle at the meetings
held on the 18th day of December 1979, the 20th day of December 1979
and the 21st day of December 1979 in respect of each recornnendation
contained in the reports of the Committees and each motion and
resolution passed and other action taken by the Council of the Town
of Newcastle at these meetings is hereby adopted and confirmed as if all
such proceedings were expressly embodies in this by-law.
2. The Mayor and proper officials of the Town of Newcastle are hereby
authorized and directed to do all things necessary to give effect
to the actions of the Council of the Town of Newcastle referred
to in the preceeding section hereof.
3. The Mayor and Clerk are authorized and directed to execute all documents
necessary in that behalf and to affix thereto the Seal of the Town
of Newcastle.
