THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW 80-158
being a by-law to appoint Acting Mayors
WHEREAS Section 209 of the Municipal Act (R.S.O. 1970, c. 284,
S 209) authorizes the Council of a Municipality to appoint
Acting Mayors,
THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle
hereby enacts as follows:
1) That the Councillors as specified in Appendix "A" of this
by-law are hereby appointed to act from time to time in
the place and stead of the Head of Council when the Head
of Council is absent from the Municipality or absent through
illness or his office is vacant and while so acting such
member has and may exercise all the rights, powers and
authority of the Head of the Council.
2) That this by-law will take effect immediately on the passing
thereof and continue in force until repealed or amended.
By-Law read a first, second and third time and finally passed
this 1st day of December 1980.
