THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW 80-128
being a by-law to repeal By-Law 75-70 being
a by-law to authorize the provision of
Municipal and School Tax Credits for the
assistance of elderly persons
WHEREAS the Ontario Pensions Property Tax Assistance Act
came into effect on June 17 1980, and
WHEREAS the said Act provides for the payment each year to
eligible pensioners of grants equal to the least of $500,
the taxes paid or payable in the year, or 20% of the total
rent paid in the year in respect of the applicant's
principal residence,
THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Newcastle ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:

THAT By-Law 75-70 passed by the said Corporation on the
Second day of September 1975 be and is hereby repealed.
By-Law read a first and second time this 6th day of October 1980.
By-Law read a third and final time this 6th day of October 1980.
