By-Law Noo 74-88
Being a by-law to amend By-Law Noo 1966 of the
Tovm of Powmanville as amended by By-Law No. 1984
of the TOvID of Bov~anville being a by-law to
establish and maintain a system for the collection,
removal and disposal of ashes, garbage and other
refuseo
\iHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Bowmanville
enacted By-Laws Noso 1966 and 1984 to establish and maintain a system for
the collection, removal and disposal of ashes, garbage and other refuse.
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle
deems it desirable to further amend By-Law Noo 1966.
THEREFOR the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle
hereby enacts as follows:-
1. That By-Law Noo 1966 be amended be deleting Paragraph No. 4 and
substituting the fol10wing:-
4. Except as hereinafter limited, ashes, garbage and other refuse
shall be collected from the street line of residences within the
Bowmanville area of the Municipality at least once each week and
from commercial buildings at least twice each week provided however,
that if by reason of extraordinary weather conditions or any other
emergency, the collection cannot be made as aforesaid, there shall be
no liability upon the ~unicipality or any of its officers or servants
in respect of such fai~lre to collect ashes, garbage or other refuse.
