Being a By-law to authorize the
acceptance of the widening of the
old Scugog Road and the exchange
of Quit Claim deeds for this purpose.
WHEREAS KENNETH BUTSON and MURIEL KATHLEEN BUTSON have
applied to The Land Division Committee of the Region of Durham
for approval to sell their farm property in Lots 19 and 20 in
the 9th Concession of the Geographic Township of Darlington
and to retain a lot therefrom and the said Land Division
Committee has approved the application subject to the appli-
cants conveying a road widening along the west side of the
Old Scugog Road to the Town of Newcastle;

AND WHEREAS a survey of the road has indicated that a
previous road widening conveyed to The united Counties of
Northumberland and Durham in June of 1947 by instrument No.
18522 is in fact, not ptossessed in accordance with the con-
veyance and it has become necessary in order to clarify title
to the adjacent lands to exchange quit claim deeds to provide
for the original road widening and the present road widening
required by The Land Division Committee;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED by the Council of The
Corporation of the Town of Newcastle that:
1. The Town of Newcastle convey to Kenneth Butson
and Muriel Kathleen Butson by way of quit claim deed the road
widening in Lot 19 in the 9th Concession of the Township of
Darlington originally conveyed by instrument No. 18522;

2. The Town of Newcastle as consideration for such
Quit Claim Deed receive and accept from Kenneth Butson and Muriel
Kathleen Butson, a quit claim deed of Part Three on Reference
Plan lOR 407 deposited on the 16th day of September, 1974,
which shows the original road widening actually possessed by

by the Municipality and includes the extra road widening re-
quired at this time by the Town of Newcastle and directed by
The Regi6n of Durham L.and Division Committee.
3. The Mayor and Clerk be and are hereby authorized
and directed to sign and execute all deeds and documents and
impress the corporate seal thereon as may be required to com-
plete the above matters.
