THE CORPOP.ATION OF THE
TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
By-Law No. 74-74
Being a by-law to amend By-LalV' No. 1592
as amended by By-La"l No. 1653 of the
former Township of Clarke.
WHEREAS the Town of Newcastle has received an application to permit the operation
of a retail antique and handicraft sales establishment within an existing dwelling in
Lot 14, Concession 6, Clarke and;
WHEREAS the Planning Advisory Committee of the Town of Newcastle has recommended
the approval of this application;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle enacts as
fo Hows : -
1. Section 10 of By-Law' No. 1592 as amended by By-Law 1653 of the former Township
of Clarke is hereby further amended by adding to Subsection 10.3 the following
Article 10.3(d):
(d)
"A_4" - Lot 14, Concession 6
In addition to the uses referred to in Section 10.1 hereof, that Part
of Lot 14, Concession 6, "lhich is designated "A-4" on Schedule "A" may
be used for the retail sale of antiques and handicrafts provided that:-
i) the retail sales area is located entirely within the dwelling
existing on the subject lands on ...0................, 1974.
ii) the retail sales area does not exceed 400 square feet or 35% of
the floor area of the dwelling whichever is the smaller.
11i) there is no external storage of goods or materials.
iv) there is no advertising other than a noni11uminated sign not
more than one square foot in area.
2.
Schedule "A" to By-Law 1653 of the former To.mship of Clarke is hereby amended
by changing to "A...4" the zone symbol on the lands indicated as "Change to lA_4"
on Schedule "X" attached hereto.
This By-law shall become effective on the date hereof, subject to receiving the
approval of the Ontario Municipal Board.
