Being a by-lau to amend By-Lav! No.. 74-38,
being a by-law to authorise participation
in the Ontario Municipal B11ployee Retirement
Systemo
WHEREAS By-Law No.. 74-38 passed on the 18th day of March, 1974, autl~rises
participation in the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System;
AND WHEREAS Clause 7 provides for the retirement of employees engaged
as Firemen at the age of sixty;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle
deems it proper that the Fire Chief should retire at the age of sixty-five..
THEREFOR the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle enacts
as follows:

THAT the following words be added to Clause 7 of By-Law Noo 74-38:
"except for the Fire Chief, ,.,ho shall be entitled to retire at
age sixty-fivel1, so that Clause 7 will now read as f01lows:-
7. The Employer hereby certifies that employees who are engaged as
Firemen arc entitled to retire at the age of sixty, except for
the Fire Chief, uho shall be entitled to retire at the age of
sixty-five..
