THE CORPORATION OF THE
TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
By-Law No. 74-44
Being a by-law to authorize the construction
on Hest Beach Road of a bridge over the
Bowmanville Creek.
WHEREAS the Council of the Municipal Corporation of the Town of
Newcastle deems it expedient and necessary to replace on West Beach ROsa. a
bridge over the Bowmanville Creek.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Municipal Corporation of the
Town of Newcastle HEREBY ENACTS as follOt'1s:-
1. THAT the Town of Newcastle shall construct a concrete bridge over the
Bowmanville Creek on the West Beach Road to replace the present bridge, such
new bridge to be approximately one hu nired and ten feet in length having a
total width of approximately 30t 4" and a road width of 28 feet including
immediate approaches and demolition of the existing structure at an esimated
cost of $155,500 less estimated subsidy of $113,500 making an
estimated net cost of $42,000, which shall be raised by the issue and sale
of debentures payable in installments ,,,ithin ten yearso
2. THAT the said construction shall be under the supervision and direction
of the Director of Engineering.

3. THAT the Mayor and Clerk be and are hereby authorized to do all acts and
sign all documents and affix the corporate seal of the Town thereto as may
be necessary in connection with the making contracts and other matters for the
completion of the said undertakings.
4. THAT the Treasurer of the Municipality is hereby authorised to make arrangements
to sign any necessary documents to arrange temporary advances of money to meet
the cost of the work pending the completion of the work, and the sale of
the debentures.
