A by-In..r to provide for the paym.ent of an annual
allowance to the Ha:'o;: and Hemberg of Council.
PURSUAnT to the Hu.nicipal Act., R.G.C. 1970, Chapter 284, Section 211,
Section 389 and Section 392, the Counc:f.l of tI:e Corporation of the To..m of
Newcastle HEREBY EnACTS as :collom3:-
1.. That: the Hayor be pair: an ennual allovTance of eleven
thOusand Gollars ($11,000.00).
2. That the rema:Ln~nz. Llehloerc of Council be paid an annual
allowance of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00).
3. Such al10uance shall be paid semi-monthly and in the
event of the c1eath of a neuber or upon his ceaning
to be a Lier.1De:: for any :ceason before the expiration
of hio tel"rll or o:::fice, the .:!i.1Ount olla11 be in proportion
to the perioL of hie service c!t:rins ouch term.
4. One-third of sUC:1. annual allouance shall be deemed to
be for expenses incident to the diocharge of his duties
as a ue~'.;ber of Council.
5. The provision of this by-lavT to ::'e retroactive to January 1st,
1974.
6. That all;;y-laml of the Tovmship of Darlington, the Town
of BC>lMe.nville, t:,e To..m8hip of Clarke and the Village of
Newcastle not conc,istent vith t:'ds by-law be and are
hereby repealed.
