CL99-21 - RE-CONSTRUCTION OF ORONO TENNIS COURTS
. Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended to Council:
1. THAT Report TR-40-99 be received;
2. THAT Bennett Paving and Materials Limited, Oshawa, Ontario with a total bid in the
amount of $48,150.00, being the lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms,
conditions and specifications of Tender CL99-21 be awarded the contract for the
reconstruction of the Orono Tennis Courts;
3. THAT the funds expended be provided from the 1998 Public Works Capital Budget
Account # 7603-00100-0516; and
4. THAT the attached By-law marked Schedule "A" authorizing the Mayor and Clerk to
execute the agreement be approved.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT
Tenders were publicly advertised and called for the reconstruction of the Orono Tennis
Courts, as required by the Department of Public Works.
Subsequently, tenders were received and tabulated as follows:

$48,150.00
$62,060.00
Burlington, Ontano
The required funds will be drawn from the approved Public Works Capital Budget
amount # 7603-00100-0516 and are within the total budget allocation of $55,000.00
which is reflected on Page 216 of the Capital Budget.

The low bidder has previously performed satisfactorily for the Municipality of Clarington.
The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs with the
recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs, specifications, etc.,
should be referred to the Director of Public Works.
After further review and analysis of the bids by both Purchasing and Public Works it is
recommended that Bennett Paving and Materials, Oshawa, Ontario be awarded the
contract of the reconstruction of the Orono Tennis Courts.

THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CLARINGTON
BY-LAW #99-
Being a By-law to authorize a contract between the
Corporation of the Municipality of Clarington and Bennett
Paving and Materials limited, Oshawa, Ontario.
THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CLARINGTON HEREBY ENACTS
AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT the Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of the
Corporation of the Municipality of Clarington with the Corporation Seal, a contract
between Bennett Paving and Materials Ltd, Oshawa, Ontario and said
Corporation; and
2. THAT this agreement attached hereto as Schedule "An form part of this By-law.
