FEE STRUCTURE - TREASURY DEPARTMENT
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. That report TR-16-90 be received; and
2. That the following fees be in effect for the Treasury
Department:
Audited Financial Report $15.00 each
Town of Newcastle Current Budget $30.00 each
Town of Newcastle Capital Budget $30.00 each
Town of Newcastle Tax Certificate $15.00 per
certificate
(current fee $12.00)
BACKGROUND & COMMENTS
In December 1988, Committee requested the Clerk to investigate
and report on a fee structure for photocopying of documents.
Subsequently, report CD-10-89 (Fee Structure - Clerk's
Department) was approved. Establishing the fee for copies of any
record, book or document at $ .50 per page.
Over the past several years there have been increasing requests
from outside agencies for copies of the Town's financial
statements and budgets. Staff do not feel it prudent to provide
these documents to other than government and related agencies
free of charge since effectively the taxpayer would be

subsidizing the cost.
The charge to furnish a copy of any record is currently that as
established by the Clerk's Department through CD-IO-90 in order
to maintain consistancy. There is no change recommended in this
regard.
The proposed fee structure for the Treasury Department is based
on estimated reproduction costs for printing and photocopying.
