Darlington Township Council met in the Municipal Building on
this date, all Members present, Reeve Muir presiding.
Moved by Councillor Gibbs and Deputy heeve Down that the
minutes of the meeting held March 21, 1968, be adopted as read.
Moved by Councillor Gibbs and Deputy Heeve
Accounts for the month of March 1968, in the amount of
approved by the Road Committee, be paid.
Moved by Councillors Gibbs and brown that rates for Warble
Fly spraYing in 1968 shall be $0.25 per head for the first 25 head, and
$6.20 per head for each head over 25, and that Derris Powder shall be
supplied to cattle owners at $6.75 per pound and that the minimum fee
for spraying shall be $2.00.
Moved by Deputy Reeve Down and Councillor Brown that the
Department of Lands and Forests are hereby authorized to use the
Township Dump for disposal of refuse from Darlington Park for the year
commencing April 1968 to March 1969 at a fee of $200.00 per annum.
Moved by Deputy rieeve Down and Councillor Gibbs that payment
of fox bounty be discontinued as of this date in keeping with the
policy of the United Counties.
Moved by Councillors Gibbs and Drown that the Tender for
oiling submitted to Cartwright and Darlington Townships by Harnden
and King Construction Ltd., be accepted at unit prices as tendered, in
the following estimated quantities:
D.H.O. Prime approximately 60,000 gal.
Sand application 1500 cu.yd.
Moved by Councillors Gibbs and Dow that Mr. Harrington,
Chairman A.J.D.A. Committees, Victoria County, be informed that since
only a very small area of a height of land in this Township would be
included in the proposed authority, this Council prefers that no part
of this Township be included therein.
Moved by Deputy Reeve Down and Councillor Brown that the
application of Joseph Christl for Tile Drainage Loan in the amount of
$2400.00 is approved, subject to the consent of the Mortgagers named
in the application and the Treasurer of Ontario.
Moved by Councillors Gibbs and Drown that Rule 33 be suspended
for the duration of this meeting.
68-l+-10 ,11 & 12 On motions as filed, a BY-law
~ tax rates for this Township for 1968, was
finally passed and numbered 2383.
Moved by Councillors brown and Gibbs that this Council agrees
to the issue of debentures in the principle amount of $120,000.00,
repayable over a tWenty year period, for the purpose of bUilding and
eqUipping an addition to the Public School at Enniskillen.
