Darlington Township Council met in the Council Chambers, Hampton, on this date, all Members present, Reeve Muir presiding. Moved by Councillor Dow and Deputy Reeve Down that the minutes of the meeting held May 2, 1968, be adopted as read. Moved by Councillor Brown and Deputy Reeve Down that accounts for the month of April 1968, as listed herewith be paid: Salaries 1 - 1') $ 16 - 30 Welfare General Roads Roads Pay 1,')71.86 2,08').74 4,14').37 9,496.90 6,129.21 2,3')0.18 2l 578. 5::J $ 28,3')7.79 tenders for gravel List 1 - 1') 16 - 30 Moved by Councillors Dow and Brown that crushing and paving be opened. Moved by Councillor Dow and Deputy Reeve Down that the Tender for construction of Hall East and Werry structures, Contract # 68-507, submitted by Ganaraska Bridge Co., be accepted at unit prices as tendered, subject to the approval of the Department of Highways. Moved by Councillors Gibbs and Brown that Tender for paving, Contract # 68-523, submitted by W.B.Bennett Construction & Materials Ltd., be accepted at unit prices as tendered, subject to the approval of the Department of Highways. Moved by Councillors Brown and Gibbs that Tender for gravel crushing submitted by Fred Nelson & Sons, be accepted at unit prices as tendered, subject to the approval of the Department of Highways. Moved by Councillor Dow and Deputy Reeve Down that Totten, Sims, Hubicki & Assoc. Ltd., are authorized to act as the agent of the Township in the supervision of the proposed Goldstein sub-division. Moved by Deputy Reeve Down and Councillor Brown that Reeve Muir be this Township's representative to a special Committee to consider the matter of including an auditorium, pool and other facilities in the proposed composite High School in Bowmanville. Moved by Deputy Reeve Down and Councillor Gibbs that, in regard to an account submitted by W.A.Thiesburger, the Clerk is instructed to reply to the effect that no action is being taken at this time, but that further investigations are being carried out which may involve study of other possible locations. Moved by Councillors Dow and Brown that Peter McCormick is authorized to supervise the Tyrone dump four (4) days per week on a trial basis for the month of June. Moved by Councillors Gibbs and Brown that Rule 33 be suspended for the duration of this meeting. Darlington Council May 17, 1968.
