Darlington Township Council met in the Hunicipal Building
on this date, all members present, Reeve Muir presiding.
Moved by Councillors Gibbs and Brown that the minutes of
the meeting held December 5, 1968 be adopted as read.
Moved by Councillors Brown and Gibbs that accounts for
the month of November, 1968 as listed herewith be paid:

Moved by Deputy-Reeve Down and Councillor Gibbs that
Ontario Hydro is requested to undertake maintenance and inspection
of Hampton Street Lights as outlined in Hydro's letter of December 1,
1968.

Hoved by Councillors Brown and Gibbs that this Council
approves the location of a new Post Office in Hampton on the Barron
property, part of lot 18, concession 5, Darlington, and that the
Department of Public Works be so informed.
Hoved by Councillors Gibbs and Brown that rule 33 be
suspended for the duration of the meeting.

On motion, a by-law to appoint a Deputy-Treasurer was
read a first and second time and passed, signed sealed and numbered

Hoved by Councillor Dow and Deputy-Reeve Down that
W. E. Rundle, Deputy-Treasurer, is authorized to sign any documents
requiring the signature of the Treasurer during the Treasurer's
temporary absence.
Hoved by Councillors Gibbs and Dow that the sum of $14000.00,
being part of the unused portion of the deposit, paid to this
Township by St. }~ry's Cement Company, be refunded to the Company.
Hoved by Councillors Brown and Dow that the matter of an
annual staff dinner be referred to the 1969 Council.
Moved by Councillors Dow and Broym that this Council shall
make application to the Lieutenant Governor in Council to approve
By-law No.2344, closing part of the road allowance between lots
14 and 15 in the Broken Front Concession, and that the Reeve and Clerk
are authorized to execute the petition and to sign all necessary
papers on behalf of the Corporation.
