Darlington Township Council met in the Municipal Building on
this date, Reeve Muir presiding. Councillors Dow and Brown absent.
Moved by Deputy Reeve Down and Councillor Gibbs that the
minutes of the meeting held July 6th, 1967, be approved as read.
Moved by Deputy Reeve Down and Councillor Gibbs that accounts
for the month of June, 1967, as lis ted herewi th, be paid:
Salaries 1 - 15 $ 1,891.11+

Moved by Deputy Reeve Down and Councillor Dow that a decision
on the 1967 Insurance review will be witheld until a revised review is
tabled by Mr. E. White at the first meeting in August.
Moved by Councillor Dow and Deputy Reeve Down that the Clerk
and Road Superintendent contact Lloyd Found to see if he is available to
do appraisal work on the Waverly Road expropriation. If Mr. Found is
available the Clerk and Road Superintendent be empowered to act as they
see fit.
Moved by Councillors Dow and Gibbs that the Road Committee,
Clerk and Road Superintendent attend a meeting at the east end of
Development Road 706 on Monday, July 31st at 3:30 p.m. to discuss with
the Department of Highway Officials the roads shoulders and slopes.
Moved by Councillor Gibbs and Deputy Reeve Down that the tender
for paving on Nash Rd., that is, the road between Concessions 2 and 3,
through lots 29, 30, 31, 32 and the east half of Lot 33, Contract 67-7,
submitted by Hastings Asphalt Ltd. be accepted at unit prices as .
tendered, subject to the approval of the Ontario Department of Highways.K
Moved by Deputy Reeve Down and Councillor Dow that, in By-law
2356, the sum of $7,000.00 be deleted from job No. 67-16, and transferred
to job No. 67-11, subject to approval of the Ontario Department of
Highways.
Moved by Councillor Gibbs and Deputl Reeve Down that Mr. T. A.
Greer, solicitor for Mr. and Mrs. Orville ~:'~e advised that the
Township Council feels that the value set by the TownShips appraiser
represents an adequate value and in justice to other property owners
concerned, the offer of settlement cannot be increased.
Moved by Councillom Gibbs and Dow that this Council consider the
passing of a By-law at its regular meeting to be held on Wednesday
August 16th, 1967 at 7:30 p.m. for the purpose of Widening, divertIng
and improving part of Waverly Road lying between the Canadian National
Railway and Highway If.ol and to expropriate certain lands required
therefore in Lots 13 and 11+ in the Broken Front Concession of the said
Township of Darlington, and that the Clerk to be instructed to publiSh
in the Canadian Statesman and post up such notices as may be required
therefor. AND FURTHER RESOLVED that the Township Solicitor be ins~ructed
to prepare the necessary By-law. And that resolution 67-7-7 be r~ed.
Moved by Councillor Dow and Deputy Reeve Down that Rule 33 be
suspended for the duration of this meeting.
12 & 13 On motions as filed a By-law to authorize conveyances of
Simpson Avenue, was given its several readings and Signed, sealed and
numbered 2360.
