On motions as filed a by-law to a)point special legal counsel
was given its several readings, signed, sealed and numbered 2369.
Moved by Deputy Reeve Down and Councillor Dow that, an
objection to BY-law 2362, filed by I. H. Smith for Bowbrook Investments
Ltd., has been noted, and as the basis of the objection seems to be an
objection to the Township's planning policy rather than an objection to
the proposal itself, this Council feels that it must continue to consider
each proposal for re-zoning to a Commercial category only for a clearly
specified purpose.
...,
Moved by Councillors Gibbs and ~rown that, in the matter of
By-law 2362, an objection filed by Albert Drown, Waverly Hoad,
Bowmanville, has been noted, and, as no reason is given for the objection
and as it seems certain that the area is ready for commercial development,
this Council does not feel that the objection should influence its
decision in this matter.
Moved by Councillors Brown and Gibbs that, an objection to
By-law 2362, filed by viesley 1<'i ce, 109 Waverly ;\oad, Bowmanville, has
been noted, and that this Council's opinion is, that, al\~bjection
indicates, that Commercial Development will occur in trQs area and the
objection is only on the ground that the proposal might interfere with
personal profit, therefore, the objection cannot be seriously considered.
