Darlington Township Council met in the Municipal Building on this date, Reeve Muir presiding, Councillor Dow absent. Moved by Councillors Brown and Gibbs that the minutes of the meetings held November 16 and November 30, 1967, be adopted as read. Moved by Councillors Gibbs and Brown that Totten, Sims, Hubicki & Associates Ltd.,are hereby authorized to proceed with all work necessary to the preparation of a submission to the Railway Transport Committee of the Canadian Transport Commission with reference to l~ilway Crossing improvements at the C.P.R. Crossings at mileage 160.82 and 160.65 Belleville Subdivision, as outlined in Mr. Sim's letter to this Township dated October 19, 1967. Moved by Deputy Reeve Down and Township Treasurer be delegated to attend Toronto on January 12 & 13, 1968. Moved by Councillor Gibbs and Accounts for the month of November, 1967, be paid as approved. Moved by Deputy Reeve Down and Councillor Brown that the next meeting of this Council be held on Tuesday, December 19, 1967, at 1.30 P.M. Moved by Deputy Ree'lre Down and Councillor Gibbs that Clare Allin be appointed to the Durham County District High School Board for a ';3 year termto'exp~re Ja.!J.uary 1, 1971. Moved by Councillors Gibbs and Brown that the Resolution of the Central Ontario Joint Planning Board is Council: following endorsed by this WHEREAS effective January 1, 1968, the Township of Whitby are to amalgamate to become one known as the Town of Whitby, and, WH~rlEAS the letter dated May 12th, 1965', from the 1linister of Municipal Affairs defined the Central Ontario Joint Planning Area and detailed the membership of the planning board, and, WHE~AS the aforementioned membership was related to six local municipalities and one effect of the Whitby amalgamation is to reduce the six member municipalities to five while retaining the same geographic limits of the planning area, NOW THEREFORE , The Central Ontario Joint Planning Board hereby petitions Minister of Municipal Affairs and requests that effective, January 1, the membership of the Board be amended to provide for:- Town of Whitby and municipality to be the the 1968, Page 2. Town of Whitby --three members (two of whom may be members of the Municipal Council ). In addition, the Mayor of the City of Oshawa, as head of the Council of the designated municipality, be an ex officio member of the Board. 67-12-9 Moved by Deputy Reeve Down and Councillor Gibbs that the Conservation Authority be notified that th~ Township's share of the La Salle project will be paid out of current funds.
