HomeMy WebLinkAbout01/06/1966 Hampton, January 6th, 1966. 66-1-1 66-1-2 The Inaugural Meeting of Darlington Township Council was held on this date in tile Municipal Building, all memberspresent. The result of the election for 1966 Council having been announced! and the members having taken the oath of office, Reeve Blanchard took the Chair, and called on the Rev. Chas. Catto who delivered an appropriate message and offered prayer. Mr. Catto was thanked for his services by Deputy Reeve Muir. Moved by Councillors Budai and Gibbs that the minutes of December 16, 1965 be approved as read. Moved by Councillors Down and Gibbs that Mrs. Mary Budai and Deputy Reeve Huir be appointed to Darlington Planning Board for the year 1966 and that Mr. McGill be re-appointed to that Board for a three year term to expire January 1st, 1969. Hoved by Deputy Reeve Huir and Councillor Down that Reeve Blanchard or his appointee be the Township's delegate to the 1966 Convention of the Association of Rural Municipalities and that the annual membership fee to the Association be paid. Moved by Councillors Gibbs and Budai that the 1966 membership fee to Ontario Good Roads Association be paid, and that the Road Superintendent{ and Road Committee be delegated to attend the 1966 Convention, also that Council members be registered to attend the one day Seminar offered prior to the Convention. Moved by Councillors DO.ill and Budai that Councillor Gibbs be appointed to the Durham Federation of Agriculture. Moved by Deputy Reeve Muir and Councillor Gibbs that the next session of this Council be held on Monday, January 17th, 1965 at 1:30 p.m. Moved by Councillors Down and Budai that accounts for the month of December, 1965 as listed herewith, be paid: Salaries 1-15 "'1,439.79 16 - 31 '" 1,973.74 'vJelfare "1,426.45 General .J' 3,335.67 Roads >I' 8It, 494.30 Roads pay list 1 - 15 ~ 2,233.78 16 - 31 " 2,103. 53 ---'~-----"----'-"--~ 97,007.26 66-1-3 66-1-4 66-1-5 66-1-6 66-1-7 66-1-17,18 66-1-20- Moved by Councillors Budai and Gibbs that all committees of Council be the same as in 1965. Moved by Councillors Down and Budai that D. G. Kemp is hereby appointed assistant assessor for this Township on a part time basis, and that the assessor may, with the approval of CounCil, retain his services from time to time, the salary in respect of this appointment to be calculated by pro rating Mr. Kemp's 1965 salary to the time expended. 66-1-10 Moved by Councillors Down and Gibbs that rule 33 be suspended for the duration of this meeting. 66-1-11,12 & 13 On motions as filed, a By-law to provide for the borrowing of sums not to exceed $400,000.00 to meet current expenditures in 1966 was 9iven its several readings, signed, sealed and numbered 2313. 66-1-14,15 & 10 On motions as filed, a By-law to regulate the construction and provide for the safety of buildings was given its several readings, signed, sealed and numbered 2314. & 19 On motions as filed a By-law to regulate parking on public streets was given its several readings, Signed, sealed and numbered 2315.
