HAMPTON, March 17, 1966.
Darlington Township Council met in the Municipal Building on
this date, all Members present, Reeve Blanchard presiding.
Moved by Councillors Budai and Down that the minutes of the
meeting held March 3, 1966, be adopted as read.
Moved by Councillors Budai and Down that the investigation
of the opening of,p,erry)Street, be referred to the Road Superintendent
(In V/~f 01\,{
and Road Committee.
Moved by Deputy Reeve Muir and Councillor Gibbs that Council
will look into the request of residents of Varcoe and Nash Road Area
re request for house numbers and will advise as soon as possible.
Moved by Councillors Gibbs and Budai that permission be
granted to the Department of Lands & Forests to use the Darlington
Township Dump for the fiscal year, April 1, 1966 to March 31, 1967,
for the consideration of the sum of Two Hundred Dollars annually.
Moved by Deputy Reeve Muir and Councillor Gibbs that this
Council endorses a proposed ResOlution, in the form attached, re
establishing residence for Welfare Recipients, and supports the proposal
to present the resolution at the 1966 Convention of the Ontario We~are

month of February, 1966, as listed herewith be paid:

of objection filed by Edith M. Mason, and deposited in this office on
Friday March 11, 1966, by Ian Smith, be received and studied by this
Council.
Moved by Councillor Gibbs and Deputy Reeve Muir that, having
considered a notice of objection to the amending of the Township's
Zoning BY-laws for the purpose of locating the plant and quarry of
St. Mary's Cement Company in this Township, the said notice having been
filed in the office of the Clerk on March 11, 1966, this Council finds
no reason for changing its policy in regard to the above application,
therefore Council's position regarding the proposal is hereby re-
affirmed.

Moved by Councillors Gibbs and Down that Clifford Pethick
be appointed Warble Fly Inspector for the Township of Darlington for the
year 1966.
Moved by Deputy Reeve Muir and Councillor Gibbs that the 1966
roads programme prepared by the Roads Committee and presented to this
meeting, providing for an expenditure of $297000.00 on Township Roads I
in 1966, be approved and adopted by this Council, and that the Road
Superintendent is hereby authorized to have plans and specifications
prepared and to call for tenders for any or all items included in the
1966 road program.
Moved by Councillors Gibbs and Down that Albert Crawford be
appointed to care for the Township Dumps for the balance of 1966 on the
same conditions and on the same terms as in 1965.
Moved by Councillor Gibbs and Deputy Reeve Muir that the
Road Superintendent is hereby authorized to consult a land appraiser
as to obtaining an appraisal on lands to be acquired for road
improvement in 1966.
Moved by Councillors Down and Budai that Reeve Blanchard is
hereby appointed to represent Darlington on a Special Joint Committee
of Bowmanville, Newcastle and Darlington, for the purpose of
investigating the setting up of an Ambulance Board.
Moved by Councillors Down and Gibbs that this meeting adjourn.
