A Special Council meeting convened at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday,
January 30th, 1962, with His Worship Mayor Ivan Hobbs in
the Chair.
All members present.
BY LAWS - Zoning and Official Plan.
Council was advised that prior to this meeting, a Public Meet-
ing had been held by the Planning Board for the purpose of
Hearing objection of any interested citizens to Amendment No.
2 to the Official Plan of the Bowman ville Planning Area.
There being no objections to this amendment, it was recommended
that Council adopt the draft by By-Law in accordance with the
Provisions of the Planning Act, prior to presentation to the
Minister of Municipal Affairs for his approval.
Mr. A. Cole, Secretary of the Bowmanville Planning Board and
Mr. A. Strike, the Town's Solicitor, were present at the meet-
ing and outlined the intent of the proposed amendment.

That Leave be granted to introduce the following by-laws:
1. A by-law to repeal By-Law No. 1$25.
2. A by-law to amend Zoning By-Law No. 15$7.
3. A bylaw to amend the Official Plan of the Bowmanville
Planning Area.

That the by-laws be read a first time, referred to Council
in Committee of the ti'lhole and read a second time. Mayor
in the Chair. carried.

That the report of Council in Committee of the Whole on the

as follows:

Industrial Area.
Mr. Strike advised that in order to complete the Town's applic-
ation for Ontario Municipal Board E~pproval, for the capital works
in the proposed Industrial Brea, that the 1962 Council should go
on record to endorse the action taken by the 1961 Council if this
is their intention.
Moved by Con. Hughes and Brough:
That this Council go on record and confirm the 'two r~~dings
given to By-Law No. 1$33, by the 1961 Council respecting the
construction of certain services to the proposed-'industrial area.

and Fice.
Nays: Nil.
Deputy-Reeve Stevens declared his interest in this matter,
did not enter debate nor vote.
Industrial Commission.
Moved by Con. Hooper and Fice:
That all reports issued in future by the Industrial Commission
are to be presented by the Chairman of that Committee rather
than the Industrial Commissioner. carried..
