MnmTES OF SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING DECEMBER D. 1973.
Meeting was held in the Council Chambers at 9:15 p.m.
Present were Reeve Alfred Gray, Councillors Fred Couch and Frank Hoar.
Purpose of the meeting was to adopt the Official Plan
Moved by Councillor Couch, seconded by Councillor Hoar that the Village
Council accept the Planning Board's recommendation that they adopt the
Draft Official Plan as presented, and send the Plan and Zoning By-law
73-15 to Mr. Walter Beath, Chairman of the Region of Durham, with an
accompanying letter strongly recommending its incorporation into the
plans for the new Region of Durham and also send the Plan to the
Ministry of the Treasury, Economics and Intergovernmental Affairs
at Queens Park, Carried.
Moved by Councillor Hoar, seconded by Councillor Couch that By-law 73-18
being a by-law adopting the Official Plan for the Newcastle Planning Area
be read a first time. Carried.
Moved by Councillor Couch, seconded by Councillor Hoar that the by-law
73-18 be read a second time. Carried.
Moved by Councillor Hoar, seconded by Councillor Couch that By-law
73-18 be read a third time and finally passed. Carried.
Mrs. Monteith of Totten Sims Hubicki Associates Limited stated that
she would reply to the Objections to Zoning By-law 73-15 and prepare
copies of her replies for the Objectors.
Moved by Councillor Hoar, seconded by Councillor Couch that the
meeting adjourn. Carried.
