MINUTES OF SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING - OCTOBER 2. 1973.
Meeting was held in t~e Municipal Office at 7:30 p.m.
Present were Reeve Gray, Councillors Barr, Couch, Hoar and Rickard.
Also present were Mr. & Mrs. Riley Nelson, and Mr. Searles, representing
Gordon Nelson Development Co. Limited and the Nel Gor Castle Nursing Home.

Purpose of the meeting was to discuss Mr. Nelsons proposed plan for a new
Nursing Home .
Res. 497 Moved by Councillor Rickard, seconded by Councillor Hoar that Council
approve the lot site for a Nursing Home on the property of Gordon Nelson
Development Co. Limited Con. 2, pt. township lot 29, King St. West. Carried.
The Clerk was instructed to send a copy offuis Resolution to Mr. Nelson
with copies to the Director, Ministry of Health, Extended Care Branch and
to the Director of Institutional Planning.
Clerk was instructed to answer letter from Windland Associates re Square 100,
asking the purpose of a proposed meeting and setting October 16 as the date
for such a meeting.
Letter from Jack Jacobsen Construction Limited asking for closure of the
Road allowance between lot 24and 25 south of Lakeshore Road, ;laS read and
the Clerk was instructed to inquire further regarding thereason for this
request.

Clerk was instructed to answer letter from Allan Lawrence, M.P. Northumberland
Durham and thank him for his help in having the Federal Government begin work
on Breakwaters at Newcastle Harbour, and stating that Council is interested in
having a copy of the Plan for this construction.
Questionnaire from Northumberland Durham Land Division Committee re lot
separation for Wilfred and Gladys Wood was eC3kpleted.

Carried.
