MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING MAY l~, 1973.
Meeting was held in the Cauail Chamber
at 8 p.m.
Present were Reeve A. Gray, Councillors Fred Couch, Frank Hoar and
R. B. Rickard.

Joe Bezubiak addressed Council re the proposed swimming pool,
suggesting that the Village, The Lions Club,.t~e School ,Board
and perhaps the Ganaraska Authority and the.Minlstry of Na~~l
Resources combine to build the Pool and advlsed that the Mlnlstry
of Physical and Health Education gave grants for such Projects.
Mrs. Joan Hill and Mr. Stan Crookall, on behalf of the residents
of Newcastle Beach presented a petition asking for some action
with regard to the nuisances of the smelt fishermen.

Mr. Bruce Markle representing the residents of Oatley Court and
Graham Court who favour the installation of sewers in that
Subdivision, asked what action coilild be taken to have the sewers
installed at this time. Council suggested a meeting be arranged
with the residents of that area, Council members and representatives
of Kilbourn Engineering.
Letters from CanarnWeek Committee; Central Ontario Waterworks
Conference; Ontario Safety League; Ministry of Treasury Economics
and Intergovernmental Affairs; City of Oshawa; Great Pine Ridge
Tourist Council; Minister of Public Works; Ministry of T.E. and
IA re the withdrawal of the energy tax; Association of Municipalities
of Ontario; Ministry of Transportation and Communications were
received and filed.
A letter from Project Sweep was read and the Clerk was instructed
to call for additional information as to the nature of projects
which would be considered by them.
Res. 377 Moved by Councillor Rickatd, seconded by Councillor
Couch that the Recreation Committee be advised that Council has
drawn up its Budget for the year and must stay within its limits
and each Board and Committee of the Village is respectfully requested
to do the same. Carried.

Res. 378 Moved by Councillor Couch, seconded by Councillor HJar
that accounts amounting to $24,411.96 be approved for payment. Carried.

that the reports of the Health Unit
Building Permit Report be accepted.

that Mr. John Harrison be granted a building permit on lot 27 Block 18
if he complies with the comments of the Health Dept. and inst~lls

that no building permit be issued to M. Mirch
