MINUTES OF SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING - l~y 8. 1973.
Meeting held in the Municipal Office at 7:30 p.m.

Present were: Reeve Alfred Gray, Councillors Fred Couch, Frank Hoar
and R. Brenton Rickard.
Res. 371 Moved by Councillor Rickard, seconded by Councillor; Hoar
that By-law 73-6 being a by-law regulating the use of public and
private sewers and drains, private sewage disposal, the installation
and connection of building sewers, and the discharge of water and
wastes into the public sewer system; and providing penalties for
violations thereof; in the Village of Newcastle, be read a first time.
Carried.
Res. 372 Moved by Councillor Couch, seconded by Councillor Rickard
that by-law 73-6 be read a second time. Carried.
Res. 373 Moved by Councillor Hoar, seconded by Councillor Couch
that by-law 73-6 be read a third time and finally passed. Carried.
The Clerk was instructed to answer a letter from residents of Beaver
Street, south of Robert, regarding the installation of sewers +Jl that
area.

Res. 374 Moved by Councillor Hoar, seconded by Councillor Rickard
that Mr. Lovekin be advised that according to the building permit
issued to Walter Bryant on June 9, 1970, he was permitted to build
an addition to his residence. It was the understanding of council
that this addition was for housing immediate family only and his
request to have this house recognized as a duplex is denied since
this is contrary to By-law 753 which designates Plan 660 as a
restricted area. Carried.
Res. 375 Moved by Councillor Hoar, seconded by Councillor Couch
that the meeting adjourn. Carried.
