HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/06/1972 . . . . MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL June 6th. 1972 Meeting was held in the Municipal Office at 7.30 p.m. Present were: Reeve A. Gray, Councillors F. Couch, K. Barr and F. Hoar A delegation headed by Tom Bolderstone approached Council to complain about the condition of the sidewalk adjacent to the Gill Apartments on the south side of King Street West. Mr. C. DeMooy was present who had fallen over the sidewalk and broken his arm. Members of Council agreed to leave the meeting to view the sidewalk in question. Mr. DeMooy was requested to have his Doctor contact the Clerk as te his injuries so claim could be sent to the Insurance Company. The Clerk was instructed to write to the Reeves and Councils of Darlington, Bowmanville and Clarke to inform them of a meeting in Newcastle on July 5th at 8 p.m. re United Counties Planning. Res. 121 Moved by Councillor Hear, Seconded by Councillor Barr that Property Registration No. 71-2 be sold to the interested party who applied to purchase the property for the amount of taxes, penalty and interest and costs, including the cost of providing a deed. Carried. Res. 122 Moved by Counciller Couc~, Seconded by Councillor Barr that By-Law 72-6 being a by-law to amend by-law No. 69-15 be read a first time. Carried. Res. 123 Moved by Councillor Hoar, Seconded by Councillor Couch that By-Law 72-6 be read a second time. Carried. Res. 124 Moved by Councillor Barr, Seconded by Counciller Hoar that By-Law 72-6 be read a third time and finally passed. Carried. Res. 125 Moved by Councillor Hoar, Seconded by Councillor Barr that by-law 72-7 being a by-law to amend by-law No. 69-15 be read a first time. Carried. Res. 126 Moved by Councillor Couch, Seconded by Councillor Hoar that by-law 72-7 be read a second time. Carried. Res. 127 Moved by Councillor Barr, Seconded by Ceuncillor Couch that by-law 72-7 be read a third time and finally passed. Carried. Res. 128 Moved by Counciller Hoar, Seconded by Councillor Barr that Council accept the resignation of Mervin Allison as Building Inspector, effective June 28th, 1972. Carried. Res.129 Moved by Councillor Hoar, Seconded by Councillor Barr that the Village advertise for a Building Inspector. Carried. Res.130 Moved by Councillor Barr, Seconded by Councillor Couch that the Village advertise for a By-Law Officer and Weed Inspector. Carried. Res. 131 Moved by Councillor Hoar, Seconded by Councillor Barr that Judy Powell be appointed to the Recreation Committee. Carried. Res. 132 Moved by adjourn.
