MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL - January 20th. 1972
Meeting was held in the Municipal Office at 7 n.m.
Present were: Reeve Alfred Gray and Councillors Fred Couch,
Frank Hoar, Keith Barr and Brenton Rickard.
Res. 21 Moved by Councillor Hoar, Seconded by Councillor Couch that
Douglas J. Cunningham be appointed Newcastle's representative
to the Ganaraska Conservation Authority for 1972. Carried.
Res. 22 Noved by Councillor Rickard, Seconded by Councillor Couch that
Narda Hoogkamp be appointed to the Community Hall Board for 1972.
Res. 2) Moved by Councillor Hoar, Seconded by Councillor Couch that we
accept the appraised value of land located on Mill Street North
in part of lots 4 and 5, Block E of .67~ per square foot, submitted
by Rowland Spencer, Real Estate Broker. Carried.
Moved by Councillor Hoar, Seconded by Councillor Barr that aletter
of intent to purchase part of lots 4 and 5 in Block E, Mill Street
North from Bell Canada at the appraised value accepted by Council
be sent to Bell Canada for acceptance, and that they be advised
that the Village will be willing to '.';i,llL.1'; to sell 1600 square
feet of part of lots 4 and 5 in Block E Mill Street North to
Bell Canada. Carried.

Res. 25 Moved by Councillor Couch, Seconded by Councillor Hoar that the
Petition for Subsidy on Road Expenditures for 1971 be authoriKed.
Carried.
Reeve Gray appointed Councillor Hoar as Acting Reeve in his
absence from the Village from January 27th to February 7th, 1972.
Res. 26 J10ved by Councillor Couch, Seconded by Councillor Hoar that the
Meeting adjourn. Carried.
