MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL
December 13th. 1971
Meeting was held in the Council Chambers at 8 p.m.
Present were: Reeve D. J. Cunningham, Councillors F. Hoar, F. Couch,
A. Gray and M. Brereton.
Moved by Councillor Couch, Seconded by Councillor Hoar that the
minutes of meetings held November 8th, 16th and 26th be adopted
as printed. Carried.
Mr. Van Nest, Solicitor, representing Oege Bandstra presented
Council with sketches of land owned by Mr. Bandstra for which
he requested separation.
Res. 482 Moved by Councillor Gray, Seconded by Councillor Couch that
Oege Bandstra be granted permission to separate a parcel of land
15,852' in area from the rest of his farm in Part of Township Lot
25, Concession 2, King Street East, subject to the approval of
the Department of Municipal Affairs. Carried.
Moved by Councillor Couch, Seconded by Councillor Brereton that
By-Law No.71-23 being a By-Law to control the discharge of sewage
into the sewage system of the Municipality be read a first time.

Moved by Councillor Hoar, Seconded by Councillor Gray that By-Law
71-23 be read a second time. Carried.
Moved by Councillor Brereton, Seconded by Councillor Couch that
By-Law 71-23 be read a third time and finally passed. Carried.
The Clerk was instructed to reply to Hambly's Beverages letter
with regard to the installation of an illuminated sign on the
property of Murray Walton, advising them that they should direct
their enquiry to the Counties for their approval.
A letter from F. B. Pidgeon was read in which he advised Council
that he was resigning from the Community Hall Board, effective
at the end of the year.
Res. 486 Moved by Councillor Couch, Seconded by Councillor Gray that F. B.
Pidgeon's resignation from the Community Hall Board be accepted
with regret, the Clerk to write a letter of appreciation to Mr.
Pidgeon for his services on this Board. Carried.

Moved by Councillor Couch, Seconded by Councillor Gray that accounts
amounting to $88,402.33 be approved for payment. Carried.
Res. 488 Moved by Councillor Couch, Seconded by Councillor Hoar that the
reports of ~he Fire Department~Hea1th Department be accepted.

Moved by Councillor Couch, Seconded by Councillor Brereton that
Alec Hendry be appointed to the Arena Management Board to replace
the vacancy of Charles Crowther for the remainder of the 1971 term.
Carried.
Moved by Councillor Couch, Seconded by Councillor Brereton that the
meeting adjourn. Carried.
