HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/12/1971 MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL - July 12th. 1971 Meeting was held in the Council Chambers at 8 p.m. Present were: Reeve D. J. Cunningh~, Councillors Frank Hoar, Fred Couch, Alfred Gray and Margaret Brereton. . Res.399 Moved by Councillor Couch, Seconded by Councillor Brereton that the minutes of meeting held Jlme 14th be adopted as printed, subject to the following change in wording of Resolution No. 388, in part "to build a service road from the south end" shall now read " to open the unopened portion". Carried. The Clerk was instructed to reply to the letter from the Association of Mayors and Reeves advising that Council agree to the sum of money being placed in a special fund to be used in some possible future action regarding Bell m8nada's application for rate increases. . The Clerk~as instructed to reply to a request from Mr. Ian Cartwright for a~reet light advising that it would not be possible to install alight at this location at the present time, but Council would consider his request at a later date. Res.400 Moved by Councillor Gray, Seconded by Councillor Hoar that the Clerk contact Mr. Roger Treumner of Triton Planning Consultants to arrange for a meeting with Council, at his convenience, to discuss the present Agreement re Planning. Carried. Res.401 Moved by Councillor Hoar, Seconded by Councillor Couch that $1,500.00 of the Recreation Grant provided for in the 1971 Budget be paid to the Recreation Committee. Carried. Res.402 Moved by Councillor Hoar, Seconded by Councillor Brereton that accounts amounting to $41,617.71 be approved by payment. Carried. Res.403 Moved by Councillor Couch, Seconded by Councillor Brereton that the reports of the Fire Department, Health Dept. and Building Dept. be accepted. Carried. Res.404 Moved by Councillor Couch, Seconded by Councillor Brereton that Supplementary Road By-Law No. 71-16 in the amount of $3,000.00 be ~ read a first time. Carried. Res.405 Moved by Councillor Gray, Seconded by Councillor Hoar that By-Law No. 71-16 be read a second time. Carried. Re s .406 Moved by Councillor Couch, Seconded by Councillor Gray that By-Law No. 71-16 be read a third time, and finally passed. Carried. Res.407 Moved by Councillor Hoar, Seconded by Councillor Couch Quotation of .1875 per gallon for supplying oil to the accepted effective August 1, 1971 to July 31st, 1972. tha t Gulf 1IH.1 t s Village be Carried. Res.408 Moved by Councillor Brereton, Seconded by Councillor Hoar that the lease be rene'fed for a period of two years at $72.00 per year with the Department of Public Works to prOVide space for Division Court in the Community Hall.
