regarding appeal of J. P. Carus,na
On May 10th, 1978 Mr. Caruana appealed for reconsideration of his 1977-88
salary based upon his promotion in March of 1977 to the position of Deputy
Director of: Recreation. .,

In Jyly,Coµnpil authorized staff to send a letter to the Chairman of the
A.I.B;isgttin$ out. thq)basis of Mr. Caruana's appeal and in August the
Treasurer regeived instructions from the 'AI.P,. to resubmit 1977'A.I,B.-2
form.,j,,TThe,$evised, A.I.B.-2. forms were submitted on September 12th, 1978
and on October 30th, 1978 the Treasurer received the attached letter from
the A:T.is,}i,Th4.approval;in effect alloias'Council. to grant to Mr. Caruana
the amoupt pf,.$1,595.00;,as an increase for 1977 being the amount that was
origipa}1y;,Kolled back by the A.I.B. in'1977.

At thq preggt time Mr; Caruana's'salary for 1978 is $13,800.00 which
is not within the 1978 salary range of $15,700.00 to $18,900.00 as ,approved
by Coe:ncilz;
