Summer Students
I have reviewed the above mentioned report submitted by the Planning Director
in regards to a bonus payment for two summer students employed in his
Department and must recommend to Committee that his recommendation not
be approved.
The purpose of hiring students under I.M.A. programlis to provide the
Municipality with additional technical employees to!iassist municipalities
in carrying out special programs which are of a benefit to the municipality
and also furthers the education of those students involved.
When a proposal such as this is received we cannot afford to discuss it
in isolation and must consider the ramifications to the whole municipality.
