SUBJECT: Planning .Director -
On May 2nd, 1978 Council carried. Out interviews for .the .position of. Planning
Director, and at that Lima four candidates were interviewed for the
position. As a tumult, Leslie Kristoff has been recommended for the position
of Planning; Director, offoctive may 1.wh , 1978 at a salary of $24,500.00.,
Mr. Kristoff has bean in the planning, field since 1964 and is a graduate :
of the University of Toronto. Ila has worked ns a Planner for the City
of Belleville and in the Community Planning branch of the Province. Also
- with theOntarioHousing Corporation am Manager of. Land Development..
During the past I No years, Mr. Kristoff has been working; as :a consultant
for the .firm of Wyl I ie c4 Ufnal Limited and has had extensive cxperienco
with suh-division do;ignq, preparation of officinl plans, zoning; by-laws,
district plains and also wnn an export witness hefora No Ontario Municipal
Board and Land Compensation Board. He also has had exparience'. n presenting. -
projects to rho public on various planning matters. -
For the past five years Mr. Kristofr has been teaching Municipal Engineering
to planning students at Ryerson I'u 1w nticnl � Institute and we fool that -.
Mr. Kristoff will briep d wrnlih tl planning experience and administrative
ability to the Planning, Department of the 'Town of Newcastle.
