Meeting was held in Council Chamber at 8 p.m.
Present were: Reeve D. J. Cunningham, Councillors Fred
Couch, .B'rank Hoar and Alfred Gray.
Hoved by Con. Couch, Seconded by Con. Hoar
that minutes of Council meetings held on July 14 and July 24
be adopted as printed. Carried.
Mr. McClellan of Frank Cowan Insurance Co. was present to
review Insurance policies on Village properties.
Moved by Con. Gray, Seconded bv Con. Couch
that insurance on Firemen be increased to :HO,OOO. and
the Councillors' ~eekly Indemnity increased to $100. total
di:3ability and 650. partial disability. Carried.
Mr. Dyriw approached Council for separation of 2 lots.
Moved by Con. Couch, Seconded by Con. Hoar
that permission be 9ranted to Strathben Investments to
separate two lots, bO' x ISO' each on part of lot 29,
Concession 2, King St. west in the Village of Newcastle.
Carried.
Mr. Cunningham vacated the chair and asked that leave be
granted to separate two lots.
Moved by Con. Couch, Seconded by Con. Hoar
that permission be granted to D. J. Cunningham for separation
of two lots, 65' x 125' each in part of lot 29, Concession I,
in the Village of Newcastle fronting on King St. West. Carried.
Moved by Con. Couch, Seconded by Con. Hoar
that the Reeve call in 1.1r. .B'aulkner to test for a well on the
rear portion of P.U.C. property on Caroline Street. Carried.
Clerk was instructed to write to O.ii.R.C. that the town
is considering the drilling of a well as soon as possible.
Noved by Con. Hoar, Seconded by Con. Couch
that the accounts amounting to 0365,796.23, be paid. Carried.
Hoved by Con. Hoar, Seconded by Con. Gray
that the renorts of the Fire Denartment and Building
Inspector b~ accepted. Carried:

Canadian Institute on Pollution Control.
Councillor Hoar asked Council if it would be possible for
the Village to charge a fee of x number of dollars for each
building lot sold to help rrovide for additional services
made necessary by new homes.
Moved by Con. Couch, 0econded by Con. Jray
that meeting adjourn. Carried.
