47/48 AND 68/69 WEST BEACH ROAD, BOWMANVILLE
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend
to Council the following:
1. THAT Report No. ADMIN -13-96 be received;
2. THAT staff be authorized to proceed with the demolition of structures located at 47/48 and
68/69 West Beach Road, Bowmanville;
3. THAT staff be authorized to issue a Purchase Order in the amount of $8,400.00 to G.
McQuaid who is the lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and
specifications of the quotation; and
4. THAT the required funds (in the amount of $8,400.00 (plus tax) be drawn from the Parkland
Cash -in -lieu Reserve Fund account #1110-00166-0000.
1.0 BACKGROUND:
1.1 As members of Council are aware, the Municipality has purchased the properties located at
the above noted locations in Bowmanville. Upon closing, the properties were inspected by '
staff and are being recommended for demolition. A total of two bids were received and
tabulated as follows:
Hard -co Construction Limited, Whitby $8,450.00
G. McQuaid Excavating &General Contracting (Oshawa) $8,400.00
G.S.T. extra on all of the above

1.2 As this is not a budgeted project, it is recommended that the necessary funds be drawn from
the parkland Cash -in -lieu Reserve Account 1110-00166-0000. The Treasurer has reviewed
the funding requirements and concurs with the financing recommendations.
