Meeting held in Cowlcil Chamber at 8 p.m. Present were: Heeve D. J. Cunningham, Councillors Joan Frith Fred Couch, Alfred Gray and Frank Hoar. Hoved by Councillor Couch, Seconded by Councillor Gray that Nrs. G. Gray be appointed acting Clerk for this meeting. Carried. Hoved by Con. Couch, .jeconded by Con. Gray that minutes of meeting of April 14 and 22nd be adopted as read. Carried. Mr. Vohsemer addressed Council regarding the condition of the road between the '.vestview Heights Subdivision and fi2 Highway and was advised that gravel had already been ordered for that road. Mr. Frank Mace asked for approval of ~lan to enlarge South Haven Rest Home. Hoved by Con. Hoar, Seconded by Con. Prith that the plan be approved providing there was no increase in the number of patients in the Home. Carried. Mr. Lloyd Bolahood spoke regarding the Schlciss Subdivision and was advised that a meeting would be arranged within the next two weeks between the Village solicitor, B. R. Lovekin and Hr. Hichard Donald, Box 25, 69 King St. East Oshawa, solicitor for Hr. Holahood. Moved by Con. Hoar, ;jeconded by Con. Couch that one-third of one cent p8r capita be forwarded to the Federation of Canadian bayors and hunicipalities (Bell Issue) to assist in presenting the teleppone user's side in hearings on Bell Canada rate increase. Carried. 'J'he Heeve appointed Councillors Hoar and Couch a committee with power to act, regarding the distribution of the 1968 commission on j<'rank Cowan Insurance. Moved by Councillor Couch, Seconded by Councillor Gray that the following letter be received and filed: Township of Saltfleet resolution: Great Pine Ridge: re Hall ]<'loor: National Ski Team ]<'und: Lovekin re Casey- Sinclair: Greer-Galloway Association Ltd: City of Kitchener Hesolution. Carried. The Clerk reported that the building Committee had advised Bell Canada that their plan 5-69050, did not contravene any existing by-laws which might prevent a construction permit being issued. Moved by Con. Hoar, Seconded by Con. Couch that accounts amounting to j4J,428.21 be approved for payment. Carried. Noved by Con. Couch, deconded by Con. Hoar that extensions to water services from },. Sutton, Wray MacDonald, Douglas Meeks and David ~ancekievill be approved according to By-law 800. Carried. Hoved by that the Unit and Con. }i'ri th, Seconded by Con. Gray reports of the Northumberland-Durham the Building Inspector, be accepted. Health Carried. hoved by Con. Hoar, deconded by Con. Frith that a letter be sent to Veltri & cions, Oshawa, purchasers of property on Toronto citreet, that it must be cleaned up within 90 days or action will be taken. Carried.
