Minutes of Snecial Meeting of Council May 12. 1969.
Neeting held in Hunicipal Office.
Present were Reeve D. J. Cunningham, Councillors tred Couch,
Joan J!'rith, Alfred Gray and -"'rank Hoar and Hr. A. J. Nore
of the Bell S'elephone Co. of Canada, Ltd.
Noved by Con. Hoar, Seconded by Con. lrith
that the following letter be sent to Nr. A. J. Hare, Bell
Canada: that the Village of Newcastle wishes to purchase
the property owned by the Bell S'elephone Co. in the Village
of Newcastle for the purpose of extending our lire Hall
'"hich is in great need of enlargement. dould you be "ood
enough to set a purchase price and let us know as soon as
possible, as we feel that this matter is quite urgent.
