Meeting was held in the Council Chamber at 8 p.m. Present were: Reeve Cunningham, Councillors Fred Couch, Joan Frith, Alfred Gray and Frank Hoar. Moved by Con. Couch, Seconded by Con. Gray that minutes of meetings held Feb. 10 and 25th be adopted as printed. Carried. Moved by Con. Gray, Seconded by Con. Couch that the Clerk be authorized to attend Municipal Affairs Financial Seminar in Cobourg, harch 17th at l.15 p.m. Carried. Moved by Con. Gray, Seconded by Con. Hoar that the encroachment onto James Street of a garage situated on lot 60, Block 19, Hanning Flan, does not appear to interfere with the travelled part of the street, therefore no action is likely to be taken in the forseeable future. Carried. Moved by Con. Frith, Seconded by Con. Couch that the Department of the Attorney-General be advised that no action in 1969 is contemplated regarding application under Land Titles Act and Boundaries Act. Carried. Moved by Con. Couch, Seconded by Con. Gray that a letter be sent to Ers. Amyilhittamore, Stouffville, regarding the details of selling the property of Mr. Stanley Kelly for taxes. Carried. Moved by Con. Gray, Seconded by Con. Hoar that $275. be paid to the Marathon Realty Co. Ltd. for C.P.R. property and that the Reeve and Clerk are hereby authorized to sign the necessary papers. Carried. The Clerk was instructed to file letters from the United-Counties E.M.O. and Good Roads Association (Road School). Hoved by Con. Couch, Seconded by Con. Frith that accounts amounting to ~7,3l8.24 be approved for payment. Carried. Moved by Con. Couch, Seconded by Con. Hoar that Resolutions 52 and 53, meeting of February 25, 1969 for first reading of By-law and second reading of by-law 69-5 be rescinded and that leave be granted to re-introduce by-law 69-5 approving the sale of debentures and that it be read a first time. Carried. Hoved by Con. Frith, Seconded by Con. Gray that it be read a second time. Carried. Moved by Con. Hoar, Seconded by Con. Couch that it be read a third time and finally passed. Carried. Hoved by Con. Hoar, beconded by Con. Couch that the report of the Fire Department for the month of February be accepted. Carried. Hoved by Con. Gray, Seconded by Con. Couch that Council petition the Minister of Highways for subsidy for 1968 Road expenditures. Carried. Order #R4738 from the Railway Transport Committee, stating that the C.N.R. are authorized to remove agents and to remove or dispose of buildings at Newcastle, was read. Moved by Con. Couch, Seconded by Con. Gray that the Chairman of the Fire Committee bring in a report, including costs, regarding changes in the use of special telephones in the Fire Department.
