MINUTES OF ~lliETING OF JOINT CO~1ITTEES OF COUNCIL AND HALL BOARD
September 16, 1968

Present were: Reeve D. J. Cunningham, Councillors F. Couch,
Alfred Gray, Frank Hoar and R. W. Walton: Hall Board Members
Albert Pearce, R. B. Rickard, Mrs. G. Darling, Mrs. G. Kimball
and Mrs. A. C. S. Williams: Acting Secretary, G. Hughes.
Moved by Councillor Couch, Seconded by Councillor Walton
that the Reeve be Chairman of the Committee. Carried.
Letter of resignation from R. B. Rickard was read.
Moved by Con. Couch, Seconded by Con. Walton that this be tabled.
Carried.

Tender. for the Hall furnaces from Harvey Partner was read. l'lr.
Partner explained the installation to Council stating that new
duct work and approximately )0 registers around the outside of
the Hall, plus a 1000 gallon. tank instead of 500 for the hot
air furnaces would be installed and that the new price would be
$6,275.
Moved by Gray, Seconded by Walton
that Mr. Partner be asked for a more detailed description of the
additional work to be done for the new price of $6,275 and if
this description is satisfactory , that the tender be accepted.
Carried.
Rents were discussed.
Moved by Walton, Seconded by Mrs. Kimball
that the Masonic Lodge be offered a three year lease at $)0.
a month for the use of their room. Carried.
Moved by Couch, Seconded by A. Pearce
that rents be charged as follows:
Local
Outsiders
Lions Room
$4.50
$7.50
Use of Kitchen (including
stove etc.)
Council Chamber

Moved by Couch, Seconded by Walton
that the Recreation Committee turn in their key to the outside
door, retain the key for their storage rooID; that the Recreation
Committee hold no meetings on Sunday in the Community Hall; and
that there be no charge for the Dancing Class in the Lions
Room. Carried.
SOille discussion took place regarding the installation of
automatic pin setters in the bowling alley and the Bowling
Committee is to bring in a further report to the Council.
