MINUTES REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING - September 9, 1968
Meeting was held in the Council Chamber at 8 p.m.
Present: Reeve D. J. Cunningham, Councillors Couch, Hoar and
Wal ton.
Moved by Con. Couch, Seconded by Con. Walton
that minutes of meeting of August 12 be approved as printed.
Carried.
Moved by Con. Hoar, Seconded by Con. Couch
that minutes of meeting of August 27th be adoped as printed.
Carried.
Mr. Lloyd Bolahood addressed Council on the completion of
the Schleiss Subdivision and the Clerk will send a copy of
our sample subdivision agreement to ~~. Bolahood.
Mr. Gordon Garrod addressed Council on the matter of the use
of the Hall for Dancing classes and other Recreational
activities.
Moved by Con. walton, Seconded by Con. Couch
that Council and the Hall Board hold a joint meeting. Carried.
Moved by Con. Hoar, Seconded by Con. Couch
that Council approve the application of George ,Ial ton to
separate a lot approximately 75' x 100' from his land known
as Waltona Park. Carried.
P~. Douglas Wright recommended that a Planning Board be set
up for the Village.
Moved by Con. Walton, Seconded by Con. Hoar
that the Clerk ask the Department of Municipal Affairs
whether subdivision control by-laws 67-3 and 67-25 have been
approved by the Minister. Carried.
Moved by Con. Couch, Seconded by Con. 'I{alton
that Voters List be made alphabetically. Carried.
Moved by Con. Walton, Seconded by Con. Hoar
that we approve the application of John Rickard for separation
of a lot from his farm approximately 120' x 120' and situated
immediately to the west of David Rickard's property. Carried.
A letter from Frank Cowan Co. regarding insurance on ice
making machinery was read.
Moved by Con. Hoar, Seconded by Con. Couch
that this letter be referred to the Arena Management Board.
Carried.
A letter from Marianna Developments regarding the purchase
of land on which he would place a Redy-Mix Concrete flant
was read.

that Council is not interested in having such a Plant in
the Village. Carried.
Letters from the Municipal Law enforcement Officer regarding
use of trailers1and garbage at the Tomina Building were read.
Reference was made to By-law 799 re trailers and the Clerk was
instructed to advise the Health Inspector about the Tomina
building.
The Clerk was instructed to file letters from the O.,~ .n. c. ,
Newcastle-on-the-lake Ratepayers Association, Municipal Planning
Consultants.
Hoved by Con. Couch, Seconded by Con. Hoar
that accounts in the amount of ;$1l,467.95..,be approved for
payment. Carried.

that leave be granted to introduce by-law 68-1) designating
a pedestrian crossover and that it be read a first time. Carried.
Moved by Con. ~alton, Seconded by Con. Couch
that it be read a second time. Carried.
Hoved by Con. Hoar, Seconded by Con. '.'ial ton
that it be read a third time and finally rassed. Carried.
Moved by Con. Hoar, Geconded by Con. ',val ton
that the report of the tire Department be adopted. Carried.
The Report of Building Eermits issued in August was read.
Clerk was instructed to file.
