MINUTES OF SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING - February 19. 1968
Present: Reeve Cunningham, Councillors Couch, Gray, Hoar and Walton.
Meeting held in Municipal Office.
Mr. Irwin Colwill spoke to Council.
Moved by Con. Couch, Seconded by Con. Hoar
that the Artificial Ice Installation Committee be dissolved.
Carried.
Moved by CQOWalton, Seconded by Con. Couch
that the bills for Artificial Ice Installation amounting to
$775.14 be paid. Carried.
Yrr. Thomas Martin spoke to Council
110ved by Con. Gray, Seconded by Con. Couch
that we apply to the Minister to allow separation of 2 lots
from the Allan t100re property behind D. Crackle's house. Carried.
Representatives from Clarke TownshiP came to Council. These were
R. Mercer, Fire Chief; G. Duvall, Fire Dept.; John Stone, Council;
Frank Gray, Council; and D. Simpson. Also present were Fred
Glanville, Newcastle Fire Chief and Albert Naylor of the Newcastle
Fire Dept.
Moved by Con. Couch, Seconded by Con. Gray
that Clarke Fire Department be allowed to use the water from
Newcastle hydrants for fires adjacent to the boundaries of
Newcastle. Carried.
Representatives of the Fire Departments left the Office and
the Fire Budget came under discussion.
Moved by Con. Gray, Seconded by Con. Hoar
that Council a~ove the Budget of the Fire.Department of .

that Council is not prepared at this time, to act on proposals
regarding the C.N.R. Crossing at mileage 285.38, Kingston
Sub-division. Carried.
Moved by Con. Hoar, Seconded by Con. Couch
that the meeting adjourn. Carried.
