MINUTES SPECIAL COUNCIL ~1EETING AUGUST 21. 1967

Present Reeve E. A. Walton, Councillors Adams, Foshay
Gray and Nesbitt.
Also Present: Mr. James Wright and Mr. M. A. MacLeod
Administrator of the Durham County District High School
Board.
The Meeting opened in the Municipal Office at 7.)0 p.m.
Moved by Con. Adams, Seconded by Con. Nesbitt
that this meeting be held in Council Chamber. Carried.

Council and guest moved up to the Council Chamber. Mr.
~IacLeod explained the position of the Hli:glil.Bal::uiloill Board
in the matter of the resignation of Mr. James Wright,
which had not been received by that Board. ~'urther
discussion took place regarding the subject of appointments
by Council and the legality of resignation handed to the
High School Board.
Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded oy Con. Gray
that upon receipt of Mr. James Wright's letter withdrawing
his resignation to Council, the Clerk will write to 11rs.
L. S. Miklos explain~ng the situation and expressing

regret. At the same time, Council accepted the offer
of r~. MacLeod to vITite to ~~s. Miklos. Carried.
Moved by Con. Adams, Seconded by Con. Foshay
that in future, before Council accepts any resignation
the legality will be investigated. Carried.
Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Gray
that the meeting adjourn. Carried.
