MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL !1EETING - August 14, 1967.

Meeting held in Council Chambers at 8 p.m.
Those present were Reeve E. A. Walton, Councillors Adams,
Foshay, Gray and Nesbitt.
Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Nesbitt
that the minutes of Meetings July 10, 1), 18 and August 1
be adopted as printed. Carried.
Miss Joan Frith addressed Council complaining about pErking
ticket No. 10 and asked 6onsideration be given to charging
her an annual fee for parking free of parking summonses in
front of her store.

Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Nesbitt
that the resignation of Mr. Howard Quinney from the Arena
Management Board be accepted with regret and a letter of
appreciation for his work for Artificial Ice be sent to
him. Carried.
Moved by Con. Gray, Seconded by Con. Foshay
that the letter from Co1wi11 and Jose be received and they
be advised that the ppoperty be cleaned up within 90 days.
Carried.
Moved by Con. Fo shay , Seconded by Con. Gray
that the notice from the Ontario Trustees and Municipal
Councillors Inc. be received and filed. Carried.

Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con Nesbitt
that the Resolution of the Township of Michipicoten
regarding Foreign Doctors practicing in Canada be
received and filed and the Clerk write the Ontario Medical
Association for advice on the subject. Carried.
Moved -by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Adams
that the Resolution of the Township of Sandwich West re
Planning Act be received and filed. Carried.
C.N.R.Crossing Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Adams
that the letter from the Board of Transport Commissioners
for Canada re Crossing Mileage 286.75 (Selby's) be received
and filed. Carried.
Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Nesbitt
that Council is in agreement with the Board of Transport
Commissioners for Canada and declares C.N. Crossing at
Mileage 285.66, Kingston Subdivision, to be a farm crossing
on the understanding that the south railway right-of-way
fence be extended and a farm gate placed south of the
Crossing. Carried.
Sewers
Moved by Con. Adams, Seconded by Con. Foshay
that we concur with the Provincially-Owned plan for the
Sewer Project at the present time, providing that we under-
take no financial obligations prmor to the signing of an
agreement. Carried.

Marathon Realty Ltd. for the exact dimensions of this property.
Carried.

that the copy of a letter from Dirk Brinkman to Hoogkamp be
received and filed. Carried.
Accounts
Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Gray
that the accounts amounting to $S6,S41.SJ!be approved. Carried.
By-Law
2 yr. term
Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Nesbitt
that leave be granted to introduce a By-Law that Council
Local Boards( P.U.C. and Public School) be elected for 2
starting with the election in December 1967, and that it
read a firt time. Carried.

that the By-Law be read a second time. Carried.
Moved by Con. Nesbitt, Seconded by Con. Adams that
the By-Law be read a third time and finally passed. Carried.
Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Nesbitt
that the Clerk write P.U.C. and Public School Board advising
them of the two year term. Carried.
The MuniCipal Auditor's report on Road Expenditures for 1966
was received.
Moved by Con. Adams, Seconded by Con. Foshay
that authority be given to the Fire Department to take the Old
Fire Truck to Warkworth on August IS to take part in the parade.
Carried.

Moved by Con. Adams, Seconded by Con. Gray that the report of the
Fire Committee be accepted. Carried.
Bldg. Permits
Moved by Con. Nesbitt, Seconded by Con. Gray
that the report of the Building Inspector be accepted and that
the application of J. Anderson Smith for a Building Permit be
granted and that no permit is required for the application of
Mrs. F. Rowe to build a chimney. Carried.
Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Adams
that the Reeve and Clerk be authorized to enter an agreement
with Leland Payne to complete the demolition of the Glenny ~tlll
remove the debris and fill the cellar to ground level. Carried.
Mr. Roy Ball's request to plant potatoes on Town property was
referred to the P.U.C.

Culvert for Chas. Clarke may be put in at his expense.
Crossing

Moved by Con. Nesbitt, Seconded by Con. Foshay
that a letter be sent to Mrs. D. Whitney asking if she will
act as Crossing Guard for the coming school terms. Carried.

that we advertise for crossing guards for Mill and Robert
Streets. Carried.
Moved by Con. Nesbitt, Seconded by Con. Foshay
that we invite6 Mr. M. A. MacLeod and Mr. James Wright to
a Special Council Meeting to be held Monday, August 21st
at 7.30 p.m. Carried.

Moved by Con. Adams, Seconded by Con. Foshay
that the matter of a Village Future Policy Planning Committee
be on the Agenda for the next regular meeting. Carried.
Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Adams
that the Clerk ask for an estimate of the cost to the Village
of a survey under the Boundaries Act and the Land Titles Act,
this estimate to be supplied at no cost. Carried.
Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Adams
that we accept with regret the resignation of Mrs. Reginald
Lovekin from the Library Board and a letter of appreciation
be sent to her. Carried.
Moved by Con. Adams, Seconded by Con. Foshay
that Jacob deJong be appointed a member of the Library Board for
the remainder of 1967. Carried.
Moved by Con. Gray, Seconded by Con. Adams
that the meeting be adjourned.
