Walton, Councillors Adams, Foshay, Gray and Nesbitt. Moved by Con. Foshay, Seccmded by Con. Gray that minutes of last meeting be adopted with the amendment that the motion dealing with Building permits was moved by Con. Gray. Carried. Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Adams that Building permits for Nesbitt, Graham and Waterbury be granted. Carried. - Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Gray that the letter from O.W.R.C. regarding the sewers be received and filed. Carried. Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Adams that the letter from the Attorney-General re Fire Survey be referred to the Fire Department. Carried. Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Nesbitt that the letter from Department of Education regarding grant for Areaa Manager be referred to the Areaa Management Board. Carried. Moved by Con. Gray, Seconded by Con. Adams that the letter from the Workllens I Compensailion Board be received and approval for payment be given to this Account. Carried. Moved '17 Con. Gray, Seconded by Con. Foshay that the Clerk write Canadian Fruit and Produce Co. Ltd. and ask that the property and burnt building be cleaned up within )0 days and that they advise us of the name of the other partner in the property. Carried. Moved by Con. Nesbitt, Seconded by Con. Adams ! that accounts amounting to $7,242.4~ be approved after the amount o~$24. charged to Fire Department for street cleaning be charged to roads. Carried. Moved by Con. Gray, Seconded by Con. Nesbitt that C.N.R. Crossing at Mileage 285.05, Kingston Subdivision affecting the farms of Wm. Lake and Jack Holmes is not to be closed but stop signs put up. The Board of Transport Commissioners of Canada to be advised with copies of the letter to Mr. Holmes and Mr. Lake. Carried. Moved by Con. Nesbitt, Seconded by Con. Foshay that the Village will take no responsibility for the 12% Capital Cost or 50% maintenance cost for the installation of flashing signal ligh~s and short arm gates and bell at Crossing 285.)8, Kingston Subdivision. Gray that a letter be written to Harry Jose and Francis Jose re the closing of C.N.R. Crossing Mileage 285.66 Kingston Sub- division and, if they agree, notify the Board of Transport Commissioners of Canada and take the necessary steps under the Municipal Act. Carried. Roads By-La. Adams that leave~egranted to introduce By-Law 67-1J~hat the sum of $2,000. is hereby estimated as the expenditure upon the construction on Caroline Street and that it be read a 1st time. Carried. , " Orangeville Resolution I Water Services . "- Moved by Con. BQsh81~, Seconded by Con.HB~; that the By-law be read a 2nd time. Carried. Moved by Con. Nesbitt, Seconded by Con. Gray that the By-Law be read a Third time and finally passed.1 Carried. Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Adams that we concur in the resolution of the Town of Orangeville regarding Standardizing the construction of School Buildings and that we do not concur with the resolution of the Town of Orangeville regarding Teachers' Salaries. Carried. Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Nesbitt that a letter be written to Mrs. Frank Miller expressing sympathy and appreciation of the many years of service of Fire Chief Frank Miller. Carried. Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Nesbitt that the report of the Fire Department be adopted. Carried. Reeve Walton explained to Council and those present about, the Traffic Violation Tags which would come into use on Monday June 19. Con. Carried. Moved by Con. Gray, Seconded by Con. Foshay that the resignation of Jamie Wright from the Durham County District High School Board effective Sept. 1 be accepted with regret and a letter of appreciation be sent to him. Carried. Moved by Con. Adams, Seconded by Con. Foshay that the Clerk cheek on the Traffic By-Law with regard to parking on Boulevards in the Village and report to next Council Meeting. Carried. ~ ~ '. Con. that each Foshay gave a notice of motion to be made in the future steps be taken to elect Council, School Board~ and P.U.C. for a 2 year term. The Olerk was instructed to write the MuniCipal World regarding the authority of Council to order the clean-up of untidy, unsightly yazis and to condemn poor construction. Moved by Con.
