MINUTES OF SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING - April 25. 1967
Special Council Meeting held in Municipal Office. Present:
Reeve Walton, Councillors Foshay, Gray, Nesaitt and R.W.
Walton.
Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Nesbitt that leave
be granted to introduce-By-Law 67-8 being a by-law to adopt
the estimate of all sums to be raised by taxation for the
year 1967 and to set mill rates as follows: Residential
and Farm - 103 mills: Commercial and Business - 109.25 mills.
and that by-law be read a 1st time. Carried.
Moved by R. W. Walton, Con. Seconded by Con. Gray that by-law
be read a second time. Carried.
Moved by Con. Nesbitt, seconded by Con. Fosh~ that it be
read a third time and finally passed. Carried.
Moved by Con. Gray, Seconded by Con. Foshay that the Municipal
Office bemain open all day June 26 - 30th inclusive for the
purpose of collecting taxes. Carried.
Moved by Con. Walton, Seconded by Con. Foshay that leKVe be
granted to introduce By-Law authorizing the Reeve and Clerk
to sign an agreement re H. S. Britton Retirement Allowance
and that By-Law be read a 1st time. Carried.
Moved by Con. Walton Seconded by Con. Gray that it be read
a second time. Carried.
Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Nesbitt that it be
read a third time. Carried.
Moved by Con. Foshay Seconded by Con. Gray that license be
granted to Cab 500-King's Taxi to operate a taxi service
under the condition that he give 24 hour service in accord-
ance with his letter applying for license. Carried.
Moved by Con. Nesbitt, Seconded by Con. Walton that registered
letters b~ sent to certain taxpayers regarding tax arrears.
Carried.
Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Walton that A. S.
Naylor be appointed temporary acting Fire Chief because of
the illness of Chief Frank Yuller. Carried.
Clerk was instructed to write a letter re water in open
foundation.
Moved by Con. Foshay, Seconded by Con. Nesbitt that a
proposal or by-law be brought to the May Council Meeting
regarding the burning of waste. Carried.
Clerk was instructed to write to John Alldread protesting
the smoking chimney.
Moved by Con. Walton, Seconded by Con. Gray that the
Meeting adjourn. Carried.
