Be it hereby resolved that the Road Superintendent be authorized
by the Council to build a temporary road and bridge on the road allow-
ance between Lots 16 and 17 in Concession 7 in the Township of Clarke.
From the County road north to an entrance into Mr. John White's
property. The entrance is approximately 300 feet north of the creek.
The said road to be built is of a temporary nature and for summer
use only and will not be built such as to be 'subject to snow plowing in
the winter. Carried.

Being a by-law to stop-up certain
road allowances and certain parts
of road allowances in the Township
of Clarke.
WrlEREAS notice of intention to pass by-law was published once a
week for a least four successive weeks and was posted up for at least
one month in six of the most public places in the immediate neighbourhood
of each of the said road allowances or parts of road allowances hereby
affected as required by the provisions of The Municipal Act;
AND WHEREAS Council has received no objections from persons claiming
that their land would be prejudicially affected by the by-law;
NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the Town-
ship of Clarke ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That all those road allowances and parts of road allowances in the
Township of Clarke described in Schedule "A" and forming part of this
by-law be and the same are hereby stopped"up.

3.. That portion of the Road Allowance between Concession 7 and 8, in the
Township of Clarke, County of Purham from the westerly limit of Lot 35,
Concession 7 easterly for a distance of four hundred and thirteen feet
(413') more or less on the nQrtherly limit of Lot 35, Concession 7 and a
distance of t~ree hundred and seventy-seven and nineteen one-hundredths
feet (337.19') from the westerly limit of Lot 35, Concession 6 on ~he
southerly limit of the said Lot 35, Concession $.
,4. The unopened road allowance between Lot 1$ and 19 in the eighth con-
cession of the Township of Clarke, County of Durham, extending from the
southerly limit of the said eighth Concession to the northerly limit ~
thereof. ..
The following Resolutions were passed:

This Council hereby resolves that the following Pay Vouchers be and
are hereby authorized for payment by the signing officers of this
Council. General Voucher #$ for August in the amount of $10,542.60.
Road Voucher #5 for august in the amount .of $35,746.45 and th.e Orono
Police Village Voucher #$ for August in the amount of $1,490.46. Carried.

This Council hereby request the ~pproval of the Liquor Control Board to
allow the Township of Clarke to hold a liquor vote. (re the remaining 7.
questions as stated in the Act) at the same time as their upcoming Munici-
pal Elections '(Dec. 4, 1972). The 7 questions are as follows:Chapter 250,
Section 73(1) R.S.O. 1970.
1. Are you in favo~ of the establishment of Government stores for the sale
of liquor?
2. Are you in favour of the establishment of Government stores for the sale
of beer only for residence consumption?
3. Are you in favour of the authorization of Ontario wine stores for the
sale of Ontario wine only for residence consumption?
4. Are,you in faVOur of the sale of beer only under 'a public house licence
for consumption on licensed premises to which woman are admitted?
5. Are you in favour of the sale of beer only under a public house licence
fOr yonsumptiop on licensed premises, to which men only are admitted?
6. Are you in favour of the sale of beer only under a public house licence
for consumption on licensed premises to which both men and women may be
admitted whether singly or escorted?
7. Are you in favour of the sale of ,beer and wine only under a dining room
licence for consumption on licensed premises with food available? Carried.
