"CARRIED" Resolution #C-172-81 Moved by Councillor Prout, seconded by Councillor Cowman THAT permission be granted to the Canadian Diabetes Association to sell sweepstake tickets in the Town of Newcastle as covered in their Provincial licence dated October 20 1980. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-173-81 Moved by Councillor Prout, seconded by Councillor Taylor THAT the letter dated January 23 1981 from the Organization of Small Urban Municipalities be received and any member of Council who wishes to attend be authorized to do so and make arrangements with the Town Clerk. "CARRIED AS AMENDED" Resolution #C-174-81 Moved by Councillor Taylor, seconded by Councillor Prout THAT the foregoing resolution be amended to include senior staff as recommended by the Chairman of the Management Committee of Staff. "CARRIED" Mr. Strafford addressed Council with regard to the Ministry's report which was attached to report #8 submitted by Mayor Rickard. He stated that the object of his study was to help the Town Council at its request and to work with Council and Staff but not as an investigation as indicated in the press.
